For several years, many events and activities have taken place at Huguenot Church on behalf of United Methodist Men, organized by a small group of faithful men. Yet the fellowship and general purpose of UMM, to “be a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spirituality and to seek daily his will” has been dormant.
Last night [Tuesday, May 25] a group of 12 interested men met to consider reorganizing as an official United Methodist Men’s group. Officers were selected to guide the reorganization through the end of this year and a first meeting date was scheduled for a breakfast meeting on Sunday, June 27 at 9:00 a.m. at the church.
We currently have at least 35 men who are active in the life of the church in various ways. It is my hope that many of these men will find a place of fellowship and nurture in United Methodist Men. May we all be in prayer for the ministry of men at Huguenot Church.
Grace and Peace, Pastor Rik
